About Dylan

Traveler / Networker / Writer / Tech Consultant / Musician

I wanted to understand why our world was the way that it was. Why are so many people homeless? Why do you so many people around the world lack basic medical care? Why do so many lack access to clean water and food? I wondered what was the core issue causing these problems, and how could these problems be solved?

In 2009, I traveled across the USA visiting towns and major cities with the simple goal of meeting people who lived on the streets and offering to buy them a meal. I wanted to feed those who were hungry, but I quickly realized it wasn’t truly food people wanted; it was connection. It was someone to listen to their stories. To show them the unconditional love, respect, dignity and value we all deserve and need as living, human beings, experiencing this great gift we call life.

In 2010 I left my job as a media producer in the corporate world, and chose to start offering my time, skills and everything I am capable of doing to serve others as a free gift to all. I believe that generosity is the true fundamental key to ending poverty around the world and my hope is that by living and working with a mentality of “freely give; freely receive” we will see our world change, and more people have access to life’s most essential needs.

In 2012 I began my first “pilgrimage” by flying to Los Angeles. I had no other plan other than to walk the streets and discover ways of connecting with people to serve and meet needs. That adventure would surpass three months, walking over 1000 miles up the western coast of the USA through all of Oregon. Although there were many difficulties along the journey, I discovered an incredible freedom living in such a way where each day I was infused with a passion to meet people, discover needs and look for ways to meet them. I would later spend the summers of 2015, 2016 and 2018 returning to walk and love people up and down the west coast.

Now, I am preparing to move overseas long-term to bring the passion in my heart for connecting with human beings from all walks of life to some of the poorest countries on earth. Thank you for visiting this blog and being part of the journey.

  1. I am very much touched by your passion. I too believe in it. Human beings should realise that they are “human beings” and start living as human beings and treat fellow human beings as human beings.

  2. Hi, Dylan, I am very impressed with your compassion and willingness to do whatever you can to meet, not only the physical needs of the poor and homeless, but to minister to their basic needs as human beings. I wish you all the best in your travels and blessings in abundance. I haven’t read your blog, yet but I’m looking forward to it. I hope you don’t mind; I shared the About You on Facebook just because I think people need to hear about the good, compassionate people who are truly giving of themselves to help others. We hear so much garbage every day; it’s refreshing to read about people like you who really want to help make the world a better place. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
